—done, and funnily (is that even a word? i guess it is; spell-check isn’t giving me any wiggly red lines) enough getting there was something I am not sure I would like to repeat.
Back in senior year high school went on a field trip to Banahaw where we squeezed ourselves into caves as wide as, well, a large woman’s hips, climbed said mountain, and other nature-y things. The hike was definitely the highlight of the whole trip because it was fine at first but after a while we began to doubt whether the peak existed at all and the last few steps had us begging for lungfuls of air and water (okay this is again something sensationalized w/e no1curr).
It was beautiful, though, when we were finally there. Our guide pointed out other mountains in the area and my brain started going off into tangents of how the climb is such an overused metaphor for life and generally waxed philosophical etc etc what I am saying is that that day was the kind that makes you realize that life is, indeed, good and beautiful.
